Abstract

The article deals with the waqf houses of the 19th — beginning of 20th century in the Tatar Sloboda (settlement) of Moscow, located in the Zamoskvorechye district (a southern part of Moscow Downtown), — real estate bequeathed by the owners in favor of the Muslim community. Most of the information about these objects is stored in various archives of Russia and is not known to researchers. Archival documents cited in the article, previously unpublished, are being thoroughly introduced into scientific circulation for the fi rst time.
