В работе подробно исследуется жизненный и научный путь Насра Абу Зайда, в том числе описывается судебный процесс по так называемому «делу Абу Зайда», вызвавшему резонанс не только в мусульманском, но и в западном мире и послужившему причиной эмиграции мыслителя из родной страны. Также автор анализирует основные идеи Абу Зайда, повлекшие критику со стороны приверженцев традиционных взглядов и ставшие поводом для обвинения ученого в вероотступничестве.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article is dedicated to Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd (1943–2010) — an Egyptian thinker, one of the leading liberal theologians of Islam, professor at Cairo University.
