В его создании каждое государство имеет собственные приоритеты и следует определенной стратегии. На постсоветском пространстве Казахстан предпринимает наиболее активные шаги в проекции собственного национального образа. С начала 1990-х гг. республика утверждает свои позиции на международной арене. Диапазон казахстанской стратегии включает широкий спектр инициатив — от «мягкой силы» до «национального брендинга»: Всемирная выставка ЭКСПО-2017 «Энергия будущего», VII зимние Азиатские игры, председательство в ОБСЕ в 2010 году и открытие международного финансового центра в Астане в 2018 году.
